Default Kelford shitty cylinder heads

Hi Guys,

Our friendly Indonesian workshop TRS (www.trs-performance.com) have received these heads from Kelford which do not work. This is the second pair of heads sent after they over-drilled the factory heads TRS sent them.

Note
1. oil path due to seals leak
2. Left head chambers (lower comp pressure) are darker than right. Found all 4 exhaust valves got pressure leaks

Thousands of dollars spent and over 6mths waiting and this is the result. Plus multiple emails and calls have been made to Kelford NZ and no reply or warranty has been given.

Below is Left Head with 10bar compression:

Below is Left Head front cylinder exhaust port (leaking valve stem seal):

Below is Left Head rear cylinder (note the leaking valve stem seal!):

Below is Right Head 12bar compression:

Below is Right head front cylinder exhaust port:

Below is Right Head rear cyl exhaust port: (badly leaking)

Missed your qn.

Kelford was commissioned for high flowing the head. The heads were meant to have oversized valves. They were also to match them to the Tomei cams supplied.

Regards,
Mao

Sweet FA by the looks of it, doesn't even look like they machined the head and clean it properly, or clean up the thread holes.

No no, the head look nice and shiny out of the packaging.

It was only after the installation and subsequent running of the engine that they realised that the engine was inbalanced.

This was proven by the difference in compression on both sides of the head.

On removal, the evidence was there.

Kelford was supposed to bench test the heads, but obviously this wasnt done. Was supposed to be a simple bolt-on job.

Has your friendly Indonesian workshop been storing these at the bottom of the sea?

LoL. Two things:

1)You must be looking at the exhaust side and not the head surface.

2) Head had been installed and removed for checking.
