Default to DCCD or not DCCD

So now saving for a six speed for the bus . Is it worth the money and hassle to go DCCD or should I keep it non DCCD 6 speed.
With future mods looking at 350 WHP . Car is going to be raced Mainly Rally sprint and hill climbs. Im looking at the r180 rear end ATM as well.

Want a combo for reliability. Money saved on DCCD would go into new 207 bottom end. Will I regret this , is DCCD going to make a big difference to a hobbiest racer.

I find the DCCD is great. Not sure if it is because I have a later model box and plated mechanical rear, but the driveline is magnificent on the track. Very predictable smashing WOT out of the corners, and is much easier to drive than my old viscous gear.

Personally I prefere non dccd with a 2 way plated rear diff, also happens to be my current setup. I am yet to drive a dccd in Motorsport application to compair though.(no one brave enough to lend me their car)

As much as it sound stupid but its not just about DCCD. What LSD is in the 6 speed without it?

Torsen, Helical, Viscous?

That is your main point of concern as if you have a shit front LSD you will want to upgrade it.

But saying that a non DCCD 02 sti box is what 45/55 split?

Either way you'll be fine if you have a non DCCD you be at a locked split, if you do you will have a button for locked or open which puts more to the rear...

It's more about how are you going to control the DCCD? an off the shelf controller is not very smart and only alters the amount of split and lock without any other input other than handbrake.

If actually using the computer and wheel speed sensors then it can work in a whole other way.

Good for skids though.

I still prefer mechanical centre and plated rear

You cannot change the split, dccd allows change to the amount of slip between front and rear, the torque split only changes when at full lock which is 50:50.
As Shane said, works well in a later model car die to all the things it can read to help it

You seem to be selling, then not selling every five minutes? Now you're putting a 6 speed in?

The dccd pro controller (auto) has inputs from the handbrake, throttle, and a g-force sensor.

I usually keep it near full lock for events, but it is very handy to be able to open it up at the push of a button for tight car park manoeuvres and so on.

Had issues with work mate . Then got screwed on a new job , now have another decent job funds were getting quite tight so to keep marital affairs positive. Tried to sell car .

Hopefully will never happen again . Then got excited yesterday with shit coming together for once and first gear let go so six speed.
