Default obd II Cable

ok iv just ordered a Cable to usb for my car due here next week just wondering if people on here who have them have any info for me..

it says i can clear and read ecu errors plus heaps other options which i wouldnt probably want to mess with more so error clearing makes it worth it.

it comes with some software apparently ? does any one ahve some better or different software i can get ?

also can u copy

which cable did u get? Tactrix or generic OBD II ?

if its the tactrix cable - then you can do everything, inc change parameters on ur ecu..

if its generic, then you will only be able to read erro codes, clear them and data log only

im bit scared to actually touch anything i shouldnt be.. main reason i got it was so if car is ever runnng funny or somthing doesnt seem right i can check and clear ecu codes...
now if i can do couple other extra things well bonus...

but like i said im not going to start changing shit and mess somthing up..

unless someone who uses these canb teach me a few things would be good
