Looking for somebody who is, or is mates with a dealer! Never really dealt with trade ins much before, but i'm looking to trade in my 2012 Evo 10 for a earlier model Betty STI (Probably 08 - 09ish) + some cash, I've decided I need a hatch in my life to make things easier and why not go back to that gorgeous Subaru rumble

So I'm basically looking for somebody "in the know" who can point me in the right direction so that I get a fair price and not be dicked around. I had toyed with the idea of selling my car privately but if I can just get it over and done with I'll be happy - any dealer taking my car will be getting a decent deal (see build thread). I won't be asking an unreasonable trade-in amount.

There are a couple on caresales atm that are what i'm looking for, just haven't had time to chase them up yet. If somebody on here is the dealer who's selling them shoot me a PM!

Buy 2010 onwards if you are going for a Betty. There were no recalls on them from late 09 build onwards.

my only advice is to sell on carsales instead. if you want to sell it quick, just advertise it at a lower price. you'll still get $xk more than trading it in at a dealership.

Don't give a dealer the satisfaction of getting such a nice car for a cheap price. Let someone who really will appreciate it buy it for a good price.

A mate just got quoted $30000 for his 2011 evo x mr, 70000km. Definitely avoid dealer on performance cars.

The only situation that you should go to a dealer for to sell your car is if you have to leave the country in a hurry and there's no one else here who can sell it on your behalf. Or you have drug debts and will lose you kneecaps if you don't pay up within 24 hours.

Yeah man, sell privately, someone out there will but it for the right price, you're just going to get ripped off otherwise if you go to a dealership

What were the recalls about if you don't mind me asking? I did a tonne of research and everybody basically said there's no reason to buy a 10 over an 08 and 09, they were all the same. I don't usually miss things like that!
