Default ASI Performance Y pipe

Now just before I cop any flame, I generally cringe at the thought of anything off eBay being fitted to my car - I have though been looking at some of the silicon Y pipes off eBay and noticed that some of them are 1/3 - 1/2 the price of the Samco kits.

Some are 'claimed' to be close to the specs of the Samco kits.

The one in particular I've been looking at is the ASI Performance - I'd also bet my badge that these are a cheap Chinese make, but if they are indeed 3 ply (4mm thick) they could possible be worth a go?

Purely for the silicon Y pipe and not the intake pre turbo.

Do these improve airflow and strength or just flashy replacement for worn out parts. They most likely come out of the same factory. Everything is made in China these days.

These y pipes sustain lots of pressure. 3layer wont be enough to hold it long. Most good brand inlet hose (pre turbo) use 6layer silicon.

I've seen videos of the cheap silicon stuff expanding and contracting like a balloon. You get what you pay for.

What brands use 6 ply? The highest I've seen is Perrin which were 5.
