Comparison pics here including spares we stock:
Also attached youtube video of STD Rally Spec suspension with External Reservoir: https://www.google.com.au/url?sa=t&s...ETnfD708ArF9xg If you want to do an internal verification, I will be happy for you to independently supply me a MCA monotube and i will disassemble it and show you the STD monotube internals are identical. There is also no scaling for MCA as the scaling is patented to STANDARD SUSPENSION in the USA. Last edited by mao; 14-04-2015 at 12:03 PM. Reason: more info |

Just because they look the same, doesn't necessarily mean they are the same product.
They may look identical, and the tubes may well be the same, but I am lead to believe that the internals and then oil, pressures, spring rates of the MCA's are performed in Qld. I have been told that MCA do design, inspection, testing and setup in house. *Disclaimer I dont work for MCA or any other car parts supplier. Nor do I have MCA's in my car. Just looking for info that may or may not be useful to the wider p-wrx audience.

Quote:
Does STD manufacture everything on the strut in their factories? Or do they source some of the common components (i.e. damper adjustment knobs, various hardware, etc) as the cost of making these in house would surely be higher than sourcing from else where. If that is the case (which is common with a lot of manufacturers in todays cost cutting market), then comparing the two is of no direct benefit. Edit: Like Dave, no direct or in direct association with MCA, just expressing my opinion based on personal experience.

When the image is finished loading, the forum should resize the pics to fit your screen?
