Wow im honestly surprised as to how everyone says keep the gc8 i have never had a chance to drive a bugeye so i would be quite worried ordering one amd never having driven it. Thanks for all the input. This forum seems alot more open and willing to help then the canadian/american ones!

Having owned similar to both, albeit the MY02 STi was reasonably modified for road & track and the V5 RA I had was a caged tarmac rally car, my advice would be that your Type R would be a better track car and the '02 STi a better road car. The type R is obviously lighter and more nimble and braking can be improved merely by upgrading the pads and fitting decent 2 piece rotors. The '02 STi gearbox is far superior to the 5 speed though.
It's a pity you can't test drive one....
