Will make up a leak tester and see what I'm working with prior to removing the lines. Have tried with soapy water, carb cleaner etc before but to no avail. Will give the filter and maf a once over as well as I haven't even looked at the filter yet. Kalgoorlie is notoriously dusty, so much in fact that it is depressing washing your car. Will wash it over night and in the morning it has a thin film of dust all over it again. The price you pay I guess! Cheers for the responses lads. Greatly appreciated. Will keep this thread updated with my findings. |

Morning all,
Just reporting back that cleaning the maf and resetting the ecu seems to have fixed the issue. Must be super sensitive as there was no physical contaminants on either the maf or inside PW intake that I could see...Either way, seems to have solved my stumble at 3500rpm. Once again, thank you all for the input. |

You are right, the mafs are very sensitive. Most likely after every drive a super thin layer of Kalgoorlie dust is ending up on the element. Eventually it gets too much and starts affecting the operation. Most likely you'll have to do the same thing again after a while.

Whenever cleaning any maf sensors I have always opted to just use brake/carby cleaner. There is proper stuff to clean them but I don't think its a necessity.
I would also recommend not touching the wires either. They clean up alright without having to use cotton buds. New ones were around $500 last time I inquired. |

I just spray the fuck out of it with contact cleaner and its enough to remove the layer of crap you can see on it. I dont touch it with anything.
