Sup guys

http://www.rexnet.com.au/forum/index...pic=52678&st=0

Found this and thought it was very interesting, atm our filter's out in the engine bay un-enclosed sucking in hot air and thought this would be a good cheap way of keeping the temps down, and with the FMIC piping the APS style in-guard CAI isnt an option and i dont wanna go custom, bit pricey

What you guys think, worth the try for less than $250?

a couple sheets of aluminium from a hardware store = $30
get a pair of tin snips too... or wreck a pair of scissors cutting it to shape and similar insulation and your done. just use a bit of cardboard to make a template first.

also anyone running a pod in the engine bay is slower than they were with the stock air box. (unless they do this mod)

wouldnt the insulation on the coolent pipes keep the heat in as seen in the pics from rexnet? appart from that the setup looks good. if you build one you will have to put up the template or something

i had my intercooler and inlet pipework, turbo, headers, dump etc all ceramic coated, this has the same effect of reducing extra engine bay heat being absorbed into the intake charge.

it all helps, but its common that people who have had cold air boxes go back to just in bay pods as the true tempurature differences while at speed are negligble.

if its for street driving, definately, for MC/wanneroo type driving, i wouldnt think it be necessary.
