Cold air at the same pressure in the same size container has more mass than hotter. More mass air means more power. This is why turbo cars have intercoolers. And its why they generally feel nore powerfull in cold weather.
If the ECUs temperature compensation equations are properly tuned, everything should run fine on cold days. Trouble is, it cant actually be tested or tuned unless you have those conditions available when tuning. But a good tuner should be able to approximate the settings so when the car does see a cold day, it still runs well and safe.

Dyno tune in warm weather
Good Question & replies from the forum
I do not think that you will have any problems with the summer / winter changes as explained by others the ECU will sort this. But here is a twist you may get better power numbers with a winter tune What do others think! |

Does not matter what numbers it makes...
Numbers are just a number.... Dyno is a tuning tool so base line to current figure. If you want to use it as a pissing competition then put two cars on the same dyno on the same day |

On a side note. There have been plenty of tuned cars explode on cold days. Thinking back to Strubarus GT. Think that let go in a big way on a cold morning.

The same topic on "clubwrx" forum or something, some guys suggested getting two maps. One for cold and one for warm. But they probably live in north america where it gets well below freezing, and then fairly warm again in summer.
