I have yet to see an insurance company give a cheaper quote for a turbo converted NA car versus a Standard turbo car. It was one of the things i looked into while looking for a Lib wagon. I was looking at getting a GX to RS conversion, but most of the insurance companies wanted annywhere from $200 to $1000 more in premiums.

Im quite glad I got the Leg GT, RAC only charges me around $850 for a Imported Legacy GT with a decent sound system, All mods listed, and a CAT4 Alarm/Immob. With a $750 excess if its my fault, $350 if its not my fault, I have maximum NCB, for a 22 year old with only on street parking in Northbridge. NORTHBRIDGE! of all places!!! Im pretty happy with that. I originally budgeted around $2000 for insurance... Id like to see a GX->RS Conversion beat that quote under the same circumstances.

tru, i work for SGIO and an aftermarket turbo conversion will send the premium thru the roof, and in sum cases the policy will be cancelled as a result

I live in a high theft risk area, and Shannons just approved my car with all mods for 16k for 900, not CAT4 alarm just immobiliser , same sort of excess. 23 with no NCB.

Yeah, If your going to thrash an Auto Box, A transmission oil cooler will definitely help towards the life of the box.
