If your buying a 34 - few rules to follow:

1. Dont buy a 1999 - go for the 2000/2001
2. Dont buy a non vspec - make sure you get a v spec/v specII
3. Buy it near standard
4. Factory Log books
4. Dont buy at auction - buy private (I did this - had someone go around and physically look at cars and take photos - email me)

If you want a QUALITY R34 GTR that meets all of the above - you will need to spend minimum 4.5million Yen (and if you want a immaculate like new very low km one execept to pay 5.5mil yen +) just for the car. Sure you can buy alot cheaper GTR's - but the saying "you get what you pay for" definately rings true for these weapons.

Ive had my 2001 V Spec II on the road for a couple weeks now - and every time I sit in it and drive it - my hands get sweaty and my heart races - its amazing.

5mill yen is around 60k depending on exchange.

If you are importing you need to add FOB, Tax, Compliance, Shipping, Stamp duty, licencing, etc - so budget around another 20Kish - so at 5 mill car price - expect to cost you total 85ish plus by the time its on the road.

As I said it can be done for alot less (also alot more) - but car would be average.

Australian import duty and gst alone would be over $12,000 for a 5mill yen car.
Adds up very quickly - my budget just doesnt allow $85k for a car.
