Thumbs up

WRX owner of 7 years......

Oil Changing on your Subaru is a piece of piss,
Same with Gearbox Fluid Changes.....

Clutch Fluid, Brake fluid changes are pretty straight forward too...
Radiator Flush is not too hard at all either....
Same Goes for Brake Pads.....
There is literally a ton of threads for a competant DIY garage mechanic.

Why take your car to a dealer at all apart from warranty issues. Keep all your receipts for the stuff you have changed and serviced, you don't need a workshop stamp to fix warranty items.

Peace of mind = DIY for simple stuff.

Is that normal pricing?

My friend just had serviced from Melville for 80,000km, cost him (WRX Sti MY99 about $800 ish too. They had wheel balance on his car and stil found the steering pulling to the left ($90 bux for wheel balance).

Simple question, are they a bit dodgy?

well for price differenceto give u an idea quote for 100k service from 3 places who all seem to be really good workshops and all do the same and use same materials

RMS $1185
MMS $1100
Race Torque $800

RT came in heaps cheaper, now people say u get what u pay for but rt is a good workshop from what i understand so maybe they just cheaper.

any way not sure what they are like yet im still 20k away from my 100 yet

i would probably say the workshops may do a better job and use better oils. IMO

Well, I was one who had my MY05 serviced by the dealer (Osborne Park). But after speaking to RMS (and having an exhaust fitted) I decided to have my 25k service done there. I much prefer my car being worked on my Alex/Leigh at RMS than anyone of the mechanics and apprentices at a dealership. But thats just me.

I have had a diff replaced and suspension fixed under warranty without an issue. I will be getting the alarm module fixed also (as its playing up) under warranty - been told it won't be an issue (over the phone).

RMS have provided a full record of their work which was just as comprehensive as the reporting provided by my dealership. Only difference was, RMS actually did all the items on the list, as compared to the dealership that didnt rotate the tyres (even though it was ticked off as done).

RMS servicing has my vote.

Tony Flood / Flood Motorsports will do a better job and cheaper than book prices for servicing. Look no further, if you want value for money. He owns and races Subarus, builds a bloody good gearbox and motor as well. No apprentices just Tony so expect a delay to get your car booked in.
