Don't get me wrong...I am saying this is superduper power for a stockie with tune and tbe....
I am looking to bolting on a biggish turbo to my MY06 rex....I keep hearing the same advice that for the 2litre you dont bother but the 2.5 will work ALOT better with aftermarket headers...read here...
http://www.rexnet.com.au/forum/index...howtopic=60282 ...car picked up 50kw with the aftermarket headers

This car seems to either prove that theory wrong...

Anyhow excellent results!

Well hey if a decent set of headers and a intercooler gives you those results its cheap horsepower, I wonder how much cams would have to do with getting up to these numbers tho.
Didn't Turismo belt out 250kw with 400L , headers, TMI and usual mods?
I wonder what the limit is with the VF43 ie will headers help this turbo much as Vosadrian was commenting about 400L and GT2?

STi & WRX have the same exhaust manifold.
disagree, you can make ok power with stock headers, but they are -not- as efficient at high-rpm.

They are some great power figures Jay! ude have to be happy with that! Just out of curiousity, has anyone got some power figures for similar mods on a 04-06 WRX (not STI). Would like to know what the VERSO tune could do for a WRX in terms of power gain. Thanks.

Stace, you can..

Aftermarket up-pipe, cross pipe, and porting..

For anything under 300PS, i dont believe headers are necessary.

on 04 wrx in the past have done hyperflow TMIC, VF35, MMS TBE, and tek 3 tune.
even after all that, the gains weren't anything like 06+tune. something like ~180kwatw.

you'll see an average of 30-40hp in most cases on WRX's etc using the Verso tune dude, similar gains in torque too but you'll have a much wider and longer torque curve to match.... you will always get more gains out of an sti due to the size of the turbo and its ability to hold more boost and flow better... still though i've driven cars before and after verso and the tune completely changest the way the car drives, much more power and torque, increased driveability and overtaking power through the midrange etc... big plus's all round if you ask me

Yeah I was looking to buy a 03 wrx that had ecutek, TBE and bigger fuel pump and that was making 150 kw atw, just seems like a massive difference to 220kw atw but i guess its a totally different car. Regardless of the power though, the car drove really nicely with the tune. Im still finding that 220kw figure really impressive though for just a tune and TBE.
