Here is an interesting one....
1. Enter freeway from a 60 zone. 2. Go past at 100kph sign. When you pass the sign you are doing 60. Reg 12 of the 'Road Traffic Act' says that you are not allowed less than 20kph under the limit on the freeway. So if the police sit on one of these off ramps they can ping EVERY driver for either 1. Speeding in the 60 zone in the lead up to the 100, or 2. Going too slow in a 100 zone. Just another fine way the govt and the boys in blue are looking after our safety on the roads. IDIOTS !

I have heard of someone contesting a ticket with the above rule as an example.
i.e if you need to be doing 60 when approaching a 60 zone from an 80 that the reverse should also apply. Not sure how they approached it but if your keen on contesting it definitely seek some advice. |

i was going 2 say the exact same thing, as that is the case surely there is some form of room for debate over the speeding fine, and in general the whole issue with speeding up to the speed limit when it changes by more then 20km/hr not sure really, just what i think about it |
