Default Where to put a Fire Extinguisher

Hey Everyone

Those of you that have fire extinguishers in your WRX's where the best spot to bolt one into and have you had to make any special mods to accommodate one in the car itself.

Thanks

I have a 1kg with metal bracket. I was told to tek screw it into the passenger footwell, but im waiting for a favor so someone can weld some tabs onto it so it can bolt onto where the front passenger seat mounts to the floor pan.

Yep - in front or behind the passenger seat.

Don't mount in on the rear parcel shelf with plastic strips like some dickhead on the forum did some time ago.

That dickhead could be me....dont judge me until u know me

On another note, i know the plastic bracket wont take the strain of the extinguisher so i have removed, like stated above, dont want it to be a projectile

Mine sits in between my legs.

When im working with a drill rig-the drillers have always said: "if the rig catches on fire-run...very fast...let it burn to the ground--> insurance is your fire extinguisher"....
Probably shouldnt do this with your WRX...but quite funny all the same

(incidently my fire extinguisher is bolted to the floor between my legs and i reckon its a mistake to underestimate china made products..... )

simple mistake with the fire extinguisher, but there is no excuse for neons

You can mount a 1kg on the floor in the rear drivers side using the existing seat mounting bolt for general Club level events. You must buy a bottle with a metal bracket. These can be had for about $25 from K-MART and require no drilling or extra brackets to fit. Please note this is not an ideal location but will satisfy CAMS for Waneroo and other Club level events.
