I am a manual fundamentalist. With a manual you have better control.
I’ve not driven an auto for years so they may have got cleverer but I found in heavy traffic they speeded up with a jerk, and when you wanted to accelerate quickly there was a hesitation while it changed gear. The change is not exactly slow but with a manual, or an auto driven manually, you anticipate traffic and you are in the right gear before you need it.
Auto have their merits, easier to drive for a learner, if you have an injured foot obviously an auto is better, and you should get consistent fast launches, faster than a novice in a manual. You may have to pre-load the transmission tho’ by using the handbrake. However, when driving fast in twisty bits you do not want the car unbalancing itself with gear changes you do not expect.
So, for Joe and Jill Shopper, maybe an auto is best, for someone who drives for fun, go manual.

Ever tried heal and toe in an auto. Done properly sounds awsome and very satisfying to get right.

me does!! but i bought mine as a dialy driver and not for the purpose of m/sport etc. i prefer being able to jump in and drive it without worrying about changing gears ( auto, air, p/steer blah blah ), very cruisey plus mines a wagon/hatch so they kinda go together!! nice family car
i have my VK SS for if i wanna go manual driving.

i like to see some of you guys on the track try and outdrive Marcel in his auto

Its not really an auto that is slow, its more of the accompanying mods.

You can make a manual slow by not thinking out what mods you're doing.
putting a big ass turbo and a big ass fmic with a fully sik extra long pipework will make more lag than a stock auto, guranteed.

Manual Manual..!!!!!! i agree with [markvaren], its also so dissapointing seeing a dope car going past you, then you realise its an auto.... u loose all respect.
In my opinion, when driving manuals, you feel as though your actually having to drive the thing. lot more fun

how can you go past a manual. you actually feel like your driving, rather than playing some racing game on the console/pc.
