Bridgestone or Yokohama ftw!

I've been using Bridgestone RE540's for some time now and heard only good things about the RE55's so far.
Yokos are great as well, but seem to be more suited to larger/ multi-lap track stuff as they seem to take a little while longer to warm up. Not so applicable for one lap sprints.

PS: Contis= Cunti??!

Yep spot on. So far it's the best tyre I've used for motorkhana type events. I've had relative success with them on the high speed stuff aswell, but not sure the current compound I run is actually suitable for long track work - more testing required.

These tyres get up to temp incredibly quickly and IMO don't change their characterstics as they wear down. They behave the same new as they do with 20% remaining.

my 2 cents

Alex

Dan - Bald RE070's. Like the ones in your garage. They're the best!

I've been using the Toyo's now for almost three years and have been happy with the cost/performance trade off.

They do take an event or two to scrub in but they continue to work all the way down to the canvas as I have tried once or twice previousley.

They do not seem to heat cycle or get harder as they age, unlike some others.

My two cents worth.

Last time i priced up a set of Kuhmo V700's 225/45/17, they were about $370 a pop (more than a year ago) - you can also flip & rotate them around to maximise usage.

Shit eh...

I'd rather buy a set of those as opposed to another set of RE070s.

I've got another set of rims now - so may as well slap some R spec rubber on the 17s.

Bringing up an old Thread..........

after a super fun but sad day on saturday at the driver training with alex, one of my tyres hit the shits and popped. I have decided that my $150 a pop tyres are ok for the street but as i would like to get more involved in these driver training days i am keen on getting myself some second hand rims and decent r-comp tyres.

Just wondering what R-comp setups some of you guys and girls are running now (updated list).

Thanks in advance..........

PS: i have searched and read threads and noted down a few brands, just after some up to date opinions.
