What was the incident in question?? You may be able to ask for a lower infringement perhaps....

I had an incident over a year ago now. A Motorcyclist slammed into me. Long story short i was told i "failed the right of way" even though he was indicating to turn before the intersection.

14 months on i still haven't heard a thing from the cops in regards to penalties etc. Now, with one month to go on my P's and only one point left.... i'd rather not get a note in the mail saying "by the way, we're cancelling your license... come back three months for another two years of P Platerage... luv u long tiem!!!!"

In all likelyhood, Dan, wombat, i'd dare say unless you caused injury or harm to another person they're unlikely to come down on your too harshly....

Though after talking about my own incident for the first time in 12 months... i'll get home to a letter telling me they'll see me in court!

*grumble* murphys law *grumble*
oh shit i wonder if they are gonna do that to me too?

was the weather really bad when you had your off?
Yep really bad!

P.s it was 3 points and $100 and no I am not contesting it, I am copping it on the chin. I farked up on the police report, thats why I got done with dangerous. I ticked the box which said I was out of control. ahh well, I will learn from my mistakes.

The letter I got goes a little like this:

All traffic accidents, whethere attended by police or self reported by drivers involved, which comes within the bounds of the road traffic act, are investigated by the police services crash investigation section, to establish whether a breach of las has occured.

the police inquiry is not intended to establish the civil liability of any driver involed in a traffic crash, as the evidence required to successfully prosecute is significantly different to that required in any insurance claim or civil proceeding which may arise of this incident.

The collision you were involved in came within these bounds and it was determined that an offence was committed.

Based on the information provided in the file, the enclosed infringement notice is issued.

Then there is the fine neatly attached to the back of the document.
