Default Just Car VS HBF

hey all.

My insurance with Just Car is up for renewal so i went exploring to see if i could find a better deal.

HBF seemed to be the best one.

Excess is $850 cheaper
Premium is $171 cheaper a year. Plus i get free window and windscreen claims.

They have agreed to cover my mods up to a value of 30% if under 9k (i think?). Not great but better than nothing. (i have sound system, suspension and TBE)

The main question i have is if they are real tight arses on mods? They said as soon as i start to play around with the computer, turbo etc then they wont cover me.
I was semi planning on getting a verso done soonish. Which would then make me uncovered. However they will look into it more closley when the time comes.

I think sticking with just car would be easiest for mods, but the excess is pretty high and ive heard making claims with them is not worth the trouble.

thoughts?

How would they know it had been verso'd? Its just a reflash isnt it, so the original ECU is still being used?

i'm with WQBE with two cars, haven't needed to make a claim yet though... but... they have been easy and good to deal with over the couple of years i've been with them, even covered all the mods ( not really many ) on both cars and insured them for what i wanted... the G/f is even on the wrx's policy and she is under 25, ALOT of other insurers, including the company her own car is insured with WON'T cover her driving the wrx.

will see how they are if/when i need to claim...

When I was with HBF they covered everything except changing ECU's. Stock ECU flashes can't be detected (other than, boy she goes faster!) so I wouldn't bother insuring that.
