Default Hi All

Hi Everyone,

I've just purchased a MY06 STI in the limited edition Sunset orange. Purchased it from a dealer and it had a Turbo back exhaust. Alot more work is planned for the car. Looking to just do some basic stuff first, such as bigger top mount, BOV and tuning.

I've been talking to a few people, some say to get the car worked on and tuned by Maximum Motorsport and tuned via ECUTEK, and other tell me to go to All Star Garage and tune it via Verso. Can anyone give me a hand in reccomending which shop to take the car to to get the best bang for my buck. Which tune would be more reliable, as I don't live in Perth but in Carnarvon 1000k's north of Perth, and if anything goes wrong it'll be hard to find someone to work on it up here.

Thanks
Scott

You'll find arguements for both on here, congratz on your purchase. They had a nice Sunset orange one at Duncan Nissan in Vic Park recently, wouldn't be the same one by any chance ? For my vote though, would be Maximum Motorsport.

Might be an idea, get a poll going and go with the highest. Or, do your own research by calling both and talking to them and sussing it out for yourself, as it's your car, at the end of the day, you're the one that needs to be content with what's been done, and by who

Welcome. As the exhaust is already done I would be checking to see if a tune has been done already.

^^ yeah...whs...MY06 should be tuned if it has had an exhaust fitted.
Check with ASG, Maximum MS and Race Torque to see if any of them have tuned it. If not, don't thrash it until you get it tuned...

Hey mate, welcome to Perth-WRX.

Personally, I would go down the All Star / Verso route, but thats just me. Being up there in carnarvon, is there someone reputable that knows subi's to carry out the services and stuff? I would be hesitant to get any major mod's done and tuning as if something does go wrong, having a tuner /dyno to suss any problem might be a bit of a mission up there, and trucking the car down to Malaga would cost u an arm and a leg.

Good luck which ever way you go, and enjoy ur orange pig

Kym

I'd be getting a specific custom tune for 95 octane. even if you do get 98 i'm guessing its not the best quality

WHS. Also do your own research to which workshop you want to use, many people on here are fan bois of either work shop so you will get a lot of biased opinions.

BOV - make sure you get the super loud twin trumpet fully sick version 1.2!!

and now sarcasm off - don't bother with it, BOV = wank and you will get sick of it in a couple of weeks. Each to their own i guess
