No... Splits are a "split-speaker" meaning 2 parts per side... consists of a mid range(medium frequency audio) woofer(usually 5"-6" and mounted lower in the door) and a high range(high frequency audio) tweeter(usually the size of a ping pong ball and mounted at the door handle or higher)...

Bass is mostly non-existant in standard Subaru stereo systems, but can be added fairly easily with a subwoofer/amplifier combo!

This is all completely irrelevant though as it sounds like your issue is with the head unit functionality... which means, as has been suggested, go in and see your choice of audio experts(personally, I'd recommend Macey) and speak to them about a solution...
