Default Hi All !

Hi Ya !

Well after a few years away, I have joined again, this time with a Bug Eye Sti, which is in need of a few minor repairs and then some little upgrades/modifications but would like a bit of information as I dont know where to start ?

to fix First:-

I have the larger STi wing on but it wasnt fitted properly and it seems to leak in the wet weather, any ideas where I should go to get this fixed ?
may also want to get a new interior for the boot as mines warped,

Also a new front bumper/ as when I left it some unmentionables put spotlights on it that are hard wired into the High beam it looks like a beatle ! but im hearing upgrade of a nice front section ? any suggestions?

and then starting at basics, I guess wanting to do a new stereo system, lowered, bodykit, different mirrors?..and exhaust, etc, any ideas info ? or what I should start on first...with risk of sounding stoopid ! .... sorry !

Cheers Lisa

You can have a crack at this yourself 'with a little help removing the wing'.

Remove the wing by undoing the screws/nuts from under the boot lid as well as disconnecting the brake light.

Once you've done that you can either go and buy some rubber 'from say clarke rubber', or windscreen sealant 'from anywhere that sells automotive products and do one of the following:

Rubber: Cut the rubber to the same size as where the spoiler attaches to the boot lid 'personally I'd still put a little windscreen sealant around the holes of the boot lid for a precaution', and refit;
Windscreen sealant: Place windscreen sealant around the holes of the boot lid, and refit.

Check the Quokka/Paper for people wrecking their vehicle, or alternately give JWS a call http://japanesewholesale.com.au/.

It really depends how they have installed them, for example if they have done a lot of cutting into the bumper it may be cheaper to source a second hand one, or if they have run a bracket off the frame of the vehicle you may just be able to get the bracket removed and take it off in one hit 'a closeup detailed picture of the front end will enable a better answer'.

If you're not confident or don't have access to someone whom can confidently disconnect the spotlights from where they are spliced into I would strongly suggest getting an electrician/motor mechanic to do it for you as you don't want to cut into wires or leave exposed wires hanging around 'note I base this off your comment that these where spliced into your highbeams'.

This is where you'll need to get an understanding of what you want out of the car before you start shelling out hard earned monies.

Some simple responses to your questions:

Car Audio: Macey of Westside Sound & Image is the forum favorite when it comes to car stereo consulting there are lots of positive comments about his services and they have been around for some time 'he would also be someone you could have a chat with about your spotlight issues'.

Bodykit - Mirrors - Exhaust: Check out the Forum Vendors Section of this thread vendors such as:

Rob from Ultrex will be able to help you with cosmetic changes as well as exhaust upgrades and other bits and pieces you may like for your car 'have personally met and dealt with Rob and is a great guy'. The link to Robs' Vendor thread is here Ultrex Forums Supporter

Wayno J-style Tuning is another forum supporter whom is more then willing to supply you with performance parts or happily answer any questions you have regarding possibly modifications to your vehicle. Click here to view his profile to ask him how he can help you.

As far as mechanics to chat to about performance upgrades as well as mechanical services this forum favors the following:

Dougie from STechnic: http://www.stechnic.com.au/
Maximum Motor Sports: http://www.maximummotorsport.com.au/
All Star Garage: http://www.allstargarage.com.au/

I would strongly suggest having a look through the forums first as there is a lot of information regarding performance upgrades so basically have an understanding of what you want to achieve whether it be:

- I would like my car to sound nicer;
- I want my car to go faster; or
- I want my car to handle better.

Well that's enough from me

Welcome and enjoy!!

nice car, bugeye STi is my favorite. With regard to the spotties, like stated before, try to remove the numberplate and see how there fitted, some of those brackets just bolt behind the numberplate. As for the electrics, best to get someone who knows what they doing to sort that side of things
