I think Ballistc is the man to talk to about coilovers? I might be getting confused tho.

Correct. For HSD's... good bang for your buck way to lower your car.

Not so much ride quality (as that is subjective and changes with different drivers, i.e. what is comfortable for me may not apply to others)

Lowering springs (that lower the car more than 20mm) on stock struts will prematurely wear your struts and may also throw your stock roll centre's out of geometry (though you can fix that with a roll centre kit)

I recently asked for advice on this as to either get some STI pinks (which you can do) or some RCE Yellows but seeing as the king springs have been on since the previous owner installed my struts may already be worn, hence why cusco coilovers are going in soon.

In my case springs wouldn't do much for preserving already worn struts but if you havent lowered the car previously then you could go STI pinks or RCE Yellows but for a little more you can, as mentioned, get some HSD HR coilovers, hard to beat for the price and you can go as low as you like (if you are going to slam it, invest in a roll centre kit too just to help move your roll centre's closer back to stock)
