Just read the thread about your last car, such a diappointing way for it to go! Really glad it ended up getting written off though so you didn't have the drama of having to get it fixed etc. And extra happy that you managed to get back into another (nicer looking! ;p) wrx! All the best for your new beast!

Cheers for all the comments guys. To be honest, I did look at a few replacement bettys and also a few 11s but went for the piggy. Insurance did cover all costs but I looked at it this way;

- Upgrades for 09-11 are ridiculously expensive and can't get a good 2nd hand deal.
- Upgrades means voiding warranty which basically removes the point
- Would be hesitant to take it on a track day, let alone gravel. The pig gets scratched by a stone and yes I will be pissed, but not as much as on a 2yo WRX.
- The piggy still has the 2.5ltr boxer and I like the feel of the gearbox a bit more

As has been mentioned, the shape of the MY06 was the last of the good til the MY11. While the Betty was good, it didn't get the looks that I am getting now, it way a family car. Sure the 11 would have but the reasons above killed it.

Will be starting mods in the new year, heading to Thailand at Christmas so saving the coin for that. So far the list stands at;

Round 1
- Stereo
- Springs
- Struts
- Sway bars

Round 2
- High flow fuel pump
- New TBE, currently has one but not sure on the brand. CAT removed and it provides some slight drone. Potentially looking at Norm butler with dump pipe. Will see what can be done about the current exhaust and build quality.
- Boost solenoid
- New high flow panel filter with CAI
- Verso Tune

That should get her going nicely and then looking further down the track there is plenty that can be done. Getting some wind in through the passenger window at the moment so will look at replacing rubbers.

Overall she is a very straight and clean MY06 with little work required. Low KMs, new tyres and just serviced for a very good price. I'm not complaining It is amazing to be in a real car again that can handle properly, I nearly forgot why I love it, falling in love all over again!
