Model year changes around September each year. So you have a 2001 MY02 WRX STi.

Also, welcome!

Yes get rid of the blow off valve.

I wouldn't put a turbo timer on a WRX (as they don't need it), but if it is already there and isn't playing havoc with your alarm system, then just leave it. Why waste time, effort and money removing someone that isn't doing anything wrong.
Can you not leave the turbo timer off and then only use it when you need to? Or manually hit the off button when you switch the ignition off?

If it aint broke, don't fix it.

Ps: As much as people say the turbo timer is a bunch of wank, I use it at track days. Rather than sit in the car for a few minutes and wait before switching it off, i lock and leave it (with car still running for a few minutes) so i can watch my mates on the track too.

Cheers, Looks like the BOV has to go then haha, I haven't tried fidling with the turbo timer yet, as it's located in an awkward position under the steering wheel, But can you if you can just select when to let it run and when to turn it off on the timer I might just keep it.

Shall defs check this out

You should be able to turn the unit off completely if you wish. It should also have preset time intervals - 15s, 30s, 1 min etc...Don't flog it on the last few minutes of the drive and you can just turn it off with no worries.
