Default So ive been lurking.......

For quite some time after the GC8 haha. Always stop in to cast a line and see if i can get a few nibbles.

The thing that has quenched my thirst for acceleration is my beloved CBR, that i thought id introduce her as i might hitup a few CV cruises in the coming weeks.

Shes an 08 built CBR 600 RR, one of the few built with the hannspree edition fairings (and theres one less after a bloke got rear ended on south street late last year!). Its a simular thing to repsol but (correct me if im wrong) only built in 08 with the WSBK team Ten Kate in mind. The previous owner has gone to alot of trouble to make it an excact replica down to the Arrow exhaust.

Whats a thread without pics......

Took a couple on the weekend.

Photobombed by the old duck!

She sports as follows;

Decaled to the shit house, shopping lists eat your heart out!
Oggy Crash bobbins
1/2 Arrow Race Exhaust
Aluminium 15 tooth front Aluminium 44 tooth rear Driven sprockets
520 grade Driven Chain
A mean suspension setup by Martymoose from PSB

Tinted visor is a must and might go a powercommander 3 at a later day, but i dont really like the linear power that it apparently gives. I love when she bucks and wants to dance. Since the sprocket changes she power wheelies first gear easily, and Martys suspension setup has seen the chicken strips on my tyres vanish within the first few corners . Theres something a bike gives that a car doesnt, instant death springs to mind haha!

Look forward too seeing some of you out there, and hopefully you see me.

P.S. Dont run me over! I still love subarus (even through all the heartache!)

Eric

Very nice bike. You had green gc8 with sunroof, 207 and cams? If so my mate tried to buy it but couldn't get the cash together, he said it was super nice though.

Haha thanks guys, Missed you too Kymbo :F, I knew MY11's would look pimp white on white!

Mike: My last week there Doh! Then its off to Fiona Stanley. And im just about to chuck a good 5k into her with a roof cage/led bars/lift/brakes/rock sliders and scrubbars. I put a Chip it tune chip in her and with my Cooper ST/T muddies, this wet weather makes it wild, she just wants drift everywhere. Its got about 150hp at the rears and when i get an exhaust should bump it up another 10 or 20 hp, if i tuned her hard im sure i could push out 200hp but i have to get some pillar mounted gauges for EGT (very essential in the Diesel) and perhaps one for boost.

Forde: Yeah that was mine mate, i had some serious heart ache after putting 11-12k into it, my mate buying it then 2 weeks later a brand new engine destroying itself. Long story short i felt like climbing the biggest building in perth and hanging off it in a fit of rage like a big dirty ape! Other then that, i loved her to bits did everything i wanted! The only girl that never argued with me :P

Ill have to trade that helmet in soon, think shes done her dash. Need something that blends into the bike, perhaps something with dragons. Dragons always make stuff better.....

Love the bike.
Need pics of your Hilux now.
Did you get engineering for the bits and pieces on the lux?
I'm keen to do mine up, thats all.

Engineering only really has to occur when you change the displacement of the engine 2500cc too 3000cc etc or when lifting over 3" i believe, everything else you can do it without attraching too many penalties. Id say keep the tyres at a reasonable offset (perhaps 10mm outside the guards) and the plod wont give you much trouble. If you do what a friend of mine did, tint the shit out of it and throw on +0's on his hilux, it got a yellow within the week.

I have mine 265x75xR16 only because the front isnt lifted. Will be going Mickey Thompson 275x75xR16's ATZ's next when i install some Bilstein shocks and EFS 2" springs but they have a +20 offset on the rims so they dont sit out too far. Plus, the bigger the tyre, the harder it is to turn. End up losing torque and putting extra strain on your engine for nothing. Food for thought when modding, just be practical instead of emotional.
