G'day guys, new to the forum... so I'm thinking about buying a new WRX. I currently own a 4WD which was great when I lived in the country but since moving down to the big smoke I'm after something a bit more practical as my daily driver. Don't want to go down the Commodore/Falcon road so many of my friends have and would prefer something a bit smaller anyway.

What are the options at the moment? It doesn't seem like there's too many new MY12's getting around? Is it worth waiting for the MY13 and when is that expected to be available? Or should I just snap up whatever is available now? What reputable dealers would you recommend in Perth?

Cheers

Howdy and welcome.
Good luck with finding a car. Wish I had the same options as you do when I bought my first WRX. ie, get a new one or wait for a newer one to come out.
Get an STI if you can is my only advice that nobody gave me.
Stronger, faster and better for mods. (you will mod your car)
I'm sure others here will give you more important things to think about mate.
Use the search function if you have any questions. It's very helpful and will save you from being burned by some members. Lol.

Welcome to Perth-WRX. If you can afford to buy an STI, buy one. Plenty of MY11/12's getting around here.

Unfortunately an STI is a bit outside the budget.. oh so tempting though. I think I will have to go with the standard.

Hey and welcome to Perth-WRX.

I would just grab whatever tickles your fancy. The newer models look quite nice with a decent rim and good offset (Such as impresiv's). Whilst the STi's are probably a better option, funds will always determine what you can get.

Alot of topics are already covered (perhaps not with MY12's) but if you hit the search function theres a wealth of knowledge around (or just private message spam Stacey 'Tuna' )....

I feel a ban coming on........:F

Enjoy
