That's really nice man...

Question for you - is it true that everything is much more expensive when going Euro? I've always wanted an M3 or IS-F but get scared away @ the costs of servicing/ parts/ mods....

Ahh... I guess a bit more.. But like anything depends what you go for. Brakes for example, Aus brand so hsv or BM would be the same. Intake ran me 1k, but the axel back exhaust was 4k.. So I mean your not going to pay 4k for a muffler on a Rex.

I planned and budgeted every mod I planned to do, it's not going to be like the Rex where it was in shops more than on the road.

When I bought the car I knew I wouldn't be happy with stock and spent a year figuring out what I wanted to do and then purchased everything at once. It's good in practice but we all have budgets.

In short.. Yeah the extras are a bit more, but you also get more with the from stock so I don't need to worry about the drivetrain, internals, suspension (thou I will put springs on).

In terms of cost to run, I had my e46 for 3 years and budgeted 3k pa to maintain. In total I spent about 1.5k in 3 years. So the servicing aspect isn't anymore expensive as a jap car.

I'll also add getting parts is so much easier and cheaper.. There are sites in the US where you can buy any item on a BM, I replaced my lower drivers seat, part of my steering wheel, even the kick guards on the door panels as they had scuffs. It's amazing how cheap and easy to get stock parts are for these brands in the states.
