Default fuel filling--very slow

Has anyone had the problem of having the petrol browser blowing back repeatedly and only allowing the fuel to dribble in,at all service stations ?????

Have this problem on occasions with MY12 wrx. I believe it's due I a build up of pressure in the tank which would potentially simulate a full tank? Could be wrong.

I just pull the bowser nose in and out repeatedly a few times and it seems to fix the job - however not all the time.. If not I fill it with a few dollars and go to the Caltex to fill up!

Not sure a service would fix the problem, mines had many a service since it first happened.

When you put the nozzle in try and hold/angle it so the fuel outlet is on the bottom edge of the filler tube, and the handle is lifted as high as possible.

I get this issue in my work ute, and i Found that the way you hold the filler makes a big difference.

Also as you start filling, slowly squeeze rhe trigger and gradually increase flow volume over a few seconds rather than just squirting full flow straight away.

I have the same issue with my Focus RS...I've found that certain service stations with older pumps are the worst, so I tend to seek out newer pumps. Also I find if you start slowly then gradually increase the flow it seems to work better. Probably made a bit worse in the Focus since they don't have a fuel cap...

Try turning the handle so it faces the back of your boot, fixed my problem.
V3 RA and Jezza like this.
