New WRX STI - "ARGH SPEC"
Hey guys,
Well, its been a few years but I am finally back behind the wheel of another rex. Albeit this one is much nicer/newer. For those of you that know or didn't know, I purchased this car as is from another member on this forum, Showgun. After weighing up many options and almost pulling the trigger on a 99 V-Spec GTR (had piss poor compression and leak down results) I was contacted by Showgun expressing his interest in possibly parting ways with his 12' STI Spec R. After arranging an inspection and a viewing, the deal was made. I have now had possession of the STI for about three weeks and always have a grin ear to ear when behind the wheel. Aesthetically, I have no plans to change it's look as I personally believe the previous owner did a bang on job of making it look amazing. Performance wise however, I plan to eventually change the turbo back to something more "streetable" as it is a bit of a lag monster! With that said, once it does hit boost it hits hard and pulls well but there is nothing down low which is a bit of a bummer. As for the 365whp, it feels a little modest but it definitely has over 300 which is enough to keep me happy for now. Future plans are a mild engine build when the current donk let's go, not chasing big hp but something that is suitable for everyday use. So reliability, strength and the opportunity to pursue more hp down the track if the bug bites. I agree with the lag side, have a look at the blouch porka pickle or the dominator 2.5xt when upgrade time comes around. Will happily do 350 HP and very usable power band. Ps e85 🌽 using the Perth-WRX mobile app

Thanks for the responses lads. However, credit where credit is due. Thomas did all the work. But, am stoked 99% of what I would normally do to one of my cars has already been done so it will make future work a breeze!!

Nice car ... The lag is part of owning a turbo car and even with a different turbo anything in the TD06-20G isn't going to start to come on boost until the mid 3000s to 4000 excepting if you do cams.
You could look at my dyno, then Scary's and then USA Dave's old foz to see the difference between the various CBRD/Blouch TD06-18/20G with various mods. Mine is mild, Scary's is not so mild and Dave's foz went from mild to stupid
