Before you decide what turbo you need to answer these things;

- what is the car to be used for (daily, track, drags, etc)?
- what engine mods have been done (compression ratio, cams, exhaust manifolds, etc)?
- what fuel are you going to be using (e85, 98, VP 109, flex fuel)?
- are you planning on twin scroll or single scroll?
- what level of response / lag is acceptable?
- what power are you shooting for (so we can tell you if that is believable?

Also might be worth going through some Driveway threads and see what other owners have done and their experience.

Maybe ask who did the engine works opinion.

Also to add to what Daan asked, what budget? And do you intend for a stock location, or are you open to a bigger turbo?

This is what I did bought a turbo for my 2l bug went to my engine builder and said make me a motor that can spin this bad boy. Then waited 3 years till my 2000 manufactured sold 2001 Wrx went dokdok last year, built motor stayed 2l, gave it some cams, just done the fuel side of things next is wiring / then final tune on a flex 98/e85 and some descent boost.

I'm wondering why the internals have been replaced so soon. Seems a bit backwards, unless it went shake, rattle and roll already.
