Hi again guys,

Okay so got everything sorted for the Intercooler bits needed.

Last night I came across an ad on gumtree for a VF24 for $300 or $400 with the P20 housing, message the guy and had a chat and he said it came off a GC8 as per his ad and been used for around 40k but unsure how it was before that.

Questions:

1. Is the VF24 a good upgrade to go over the standard TD04? I am chasing low to mid range torque, not really fuss about top end, dyno or quarter mile thing, just wanted something that spools quickly and won't run out of breath in mid range rpm.

2. Is it true that this will be Bolt On with the P20 Housing?

3. I know a tune is required and I am onto that (saving at the moment) but would it hurt to put this on temporarily and have fun before I can afford the tune?

4. Should I be weary of the cost? as it sounds a bit cheap and too good to be true, although there wasn't much VF24 around to compare prices, I was just comparing it to VF34 which is 3-4 times the price

Thanks guys, hope to hear from you soon because if you think it's worth doing would like to grab them before they're gone

I ran a VF24 with the STI ECU on my 99/00 WRX.

Ran like a rocket. The VF24 very, very was quick to spool, and held boost all the way to 6500rpm

Its ball bearing so it spun like a dremmel.

I ran 17 psi boost all day, everyday. Big intercooler, 3 inch turbo back exhaust. No tune required if running the STI ECU. There is so much information out there (and on this forum!!) about running an STI ECU on a 99/00 WRX.
