That could be said with any tunes if insufficient time is put into it
true, however more so with the 44s |

- it worked well with my brant alarm
but your factory immobiliser didnt work i assume? (the flashing red light on the dash board) i dont have a brant, so if i need another immobiliser that will add more cost to running this ecu thanks |
question, if i tried another my01 factory ecu i assume my key would still start the car? so does that mean the factory immob (no brant??) is separate from the ecu?
thanks |
As far as I can remember, everything worked as per OEM.

thanks
i thought the keys were coded to the ecu.. ecu change ment a recode of the keys to the ecu?? |
If you change to a same year ECU, your car won't start
Needs recoding |
question, if i tried another my01 factory ecu i assume my key would still start the car? so does that mean the factory immob (no brant??) is separate from the ecu?
thanks
As the others have said, No the car won't start as the ECU stores the transponder chip codes. Swapping to a different ecu (of the same model) will have the stored codes from the other vehicles keys - therefore your keys are seen as foreign & the ecu remains shutdown. There is no way to bypass it with a factory ecu. |
looks like thats it then, thanks for all the help.

As far as I know, the IMM is the actual key 'reader' as such. It works like a proxy card reader.
The IMM 'talks' to the ECM (ecu) for code verification: Trouble codes indicate as such: P1571 = Reference Code Incompatibility - Reference code incompatibility between IMM ECM and ECM (ECU) P1572 = EGI Immobilizer Communication (Except Antenna Circuit) -Communication failure between IMM ECM and ECM P1574 = Key Immobilizer Communication - Failure of IMM ECM to verify key (transponder) ID code P1576 = EGI Control Module - EEPROM ECM malfunctioning P1577 = IMM Control Module EEPROM - IMM ECM malfunctioning |
