Thanks Matty & Burkemeister!

Burke, you really need to do something about that avatar...it is most disturbing!

Really enjoyed the weekend, and saw the Pemberton stage for the first time.

3000 photos to go through, but here at 3 of a couple of people who frequent here.

Photos will end up on my smugmug site below, but I've got Donnlley River to do first, but hopefully they won't be too long away.

We had a nice few runs on the Pump Hill stage at shakedown/charity rides on Friday....car felt good and we were on the notes.

Come Saturday and SS1, the nerves were there but soon disappeared after the first launch up Big Brook Dam North 1....again the car felt nice and pace notes and calling were spot on. A little sideways action on one of the downhill left 3's which tightened a bit but the car flicked back into line nicely.
Fried the clutch a bit on Big Brook Dam South 1 at the start but no big deal...good run on the stage.
BB Dam North 2 was good...took about 7 sec off the first run time.
BB Dam South 2...good start (no clutch frying!)...got about 3/4 of the way through getting 180+ up hill then braking into right 3... booted it out of the the corner then BANG.... no drive and horrible transmission noises. Managed to coast to the finish and that was the finbish of our event. Either gearboox or diffs...will have to wait and see until it's pullked out. Bummer.....all that effort for so few stages...like they say, that's rallying!

Overall had a great time and the car went really well (until it broke). Happy with the notes and the communication, so we will be back again!

Big thanks to Danny, Harry (from MMS) for servicing and to the girls (Alli, Bianca & Vida) for feeding us and putting up with two disappointed competitors.

Great event...we will be back next year.

Steve

We missed the 4th run of Big Brook to catch you at the bridge... Found out after lunch that you had not crashed out (Thanks to Clerk of Course at mobile Rally HQ), but they were unsure to why you were out.

We had also heard from someone that in the 4th run of Big Brook, the car sounded very bad, and they thought it was a big end. Same result, that you couldn't continue, but may have stopped Danny from going Dak Dak Boom, (or not knowing Danny)

Would have been nice to have seen a few more Subies, we plan to take part in 2 years. As a spectator, its a really relaxed event, spectator points are good and not over taped, but are still safe.

At least you lasted longer than the Corvette.

Tim,

Thankfully not engine.....definitely transmission related (slightly cheaper!). The box is coming out as we speak, so will know more later today!
