Urrghh that was a driving day to forget! Dean you were right when you sold me those tyres- they are junk in the wet and even worse a year later
Time for some tyres I think - what compound is the go gents on the A050?

Jurgen was running brand new soft a050 today and he was killing it.

I had a terrible day on the track, all sorts of tyre and diff setup problems, my car spent most of the day harvesting grass and weeds.
Good fun though, have learnt a few things about how the car should be set up for the wet.

Lol, we are all in the same boat so far.. I don't know what my problem is but I'm thinking the Hankooks don't like the wet or cold. About 2 months ago I couldn't get any grip when it was about 5 degrees, last month I had a cracker in nice conditions and today was utter shit. Basically each corner was abs -> overshoot corner -> understeer then putt down the road.
I've had a048s, toyo888s, a050s and now the Hankooks and I've never experienced such a gap between performance in different conditions. In order to get around a corner if have to slow down to a pace where I could ride by bike around faster which is fucking pointless.
They are on fire in the dry, frustrating in the wet.
The only thing I can take from today is nailing a drifto handbrakey to the tee and thanks to Dave for the 5lts of e85, life saver!
RUSSGT and davidsdh like this.

Not such a good day at the office for me.

Burke I echo your sentiments about the hankooks they are a completely useless in the wet or on a cold track. But they are amazing in the dry/warm.

So, yes I backed my betty into the railing in front of the spectator area, and no I am not blaming the hankooks. I aquaplaned straight on and took one look at the railing and decided I was not going to be eating my airbag today. I yanked on the 'wand' and back it in real gentle like...

I cannonballed into the roof and thought to myself did that just really happen? Then someone was tapping on my window saying 'Are you ok mate?'

The photos look bad but the car looks far worse in the flesh.

Cheers,
Nick

Fuck nick, I saw the car as I rocked up but wasn't 100% sure it was yours and didn't see you so was hoping it wasn't you.

Dear God Nick, that looks like a hell of a mess. Hope you are ok. Is that write off type of damage?

Oh and from what I can work out Subaru reigned supreme today with a 1-2
Once again Jamie Lister punting his gc8 into second place outright ahead of much more capable cars in very trying conditions
