It was like ice skating! no grip anywhere!

3/4 throttle 3rd gear straight line all 4 lighting up and sideways!

Thought I would go for the drift everywhere but even that wouldn't work as you couldn't get any grip to try and recover so I ate some grass a few times.

Not to worry I'll grab something reasonable/good and have some more fun next round hopefully

Holy shit. Epic hit nick.

As long as you're ok. The car can be repaired. Leave it for a week or so then worry about the car, I found when I last crashed my car I couldn't face myself for a week let alone look at my crumpled pride n joy.

Worst comes to worst, part it out and use the money to buy a caged car and have some proper fun :-)

Seriously sucks, very bad luck.

I will say that from standing at this exact spot in the AM session and seeing the track get a bit damp, that corner was destined to take at least one casualty.

Nick, if you're going to chase parts off your own back, let me know what they're quoting you and I can guide you on value.

Can get a bit hairy when it comes to replacing airbag related items.

Good morning all.

Thanks to all who have messaged, rung and pm'd me it is much appreciated. My head feels like it's sitting on a slinky at the moment but I have no sharp pains and can move about ok. A couple of packets of anti-inflammatory's, a few beers and some spa time should hopefully sort it.

Thank you to the Mc Motorsport crew Jurgen, Murray ( please stop calling me Mr Spectacular ) volunteers and Ben for taking good care of me and not letting me wander off the reservation. I was very dazed and confused for a good hour or so after submarining into the roof.

Thank you to Jamie Taylor ( BOMBSAWAY ) for towing me (80km) home for a carton, you are a fucking champion mate.

Russ I agree that a down shift would have washed off more speed but lets face it, I was going to hit that barrier.

Aquaplaning from 120km in fourth was always going to be hard to control. I should have braked earlier ( or stayed in third gear ) or not been on the track at all. There would have no shame in pulling the pin in those conditions it's local motorsport not prime time stuff. It was my mistake nuff said.

Cheers.

Nice tug of the handbrake to back it in.

Is there a point where the race officials would of called the racing off or is it a drivers decision?

I know why my neck, shoulder and arm are so sore, I still had hold of the wand right up until the impact.
