Round 6 of the WA State Rally Championship and Clubman Series, the Carringtons Traffic Services Safari Rally will run on Saturday the 11th of October in Chidlow.
Rally HQ is again based at the Chidlow Tavern (Cnr Thomas St and Old Northam Rd Chidlow) and the All Star Garage service park will be located opposite on the village green.
Using roads in the forests of the Sawyers Valley/Chidlow area, the stages and layout have seen considerable revision from previous years.
Using a 3 stage run twice format, State competitors will pace note in the morning prior to the event with Clubman and Challenge competitors using a supplied road book.
The three stages are sponsored by Onslow Contracting, Performance Race Gear and Douglas Automotive.
In the last few weeks, a route alteration was required due to changes of the Mundaring Rifle Range buffer zone. This situation dramatically affected the Douglas Automotive stage and deleted the traditional spectator points that ran nearby to the Powerline track and Chidlow Rd.
The revised stage route will take competitors onto some new roads and past a new spectator point giving a different point of view of the rally. The new route also has many brilliant road closure points of VIP viewing for officials.
For WARC entrants, the competitive distance is around 140km with Clubman Cup entrants running a shorter 70km.
Car 1 starts at 12:00PM.
