The map changing will be the duty of the ecu mate, I know the option is doable, but you'd really have to research how its managed. If it requires an aux trigger/input you can then look at products that can offer an output to the ecu, but you need to clarify the ecu functions first.

hahaha i thought u would have thought i was smarter than that mate

You can obviously put a switch in to change maps with the ecu im sure. So that can be done, but i was hoping there was something in built with the dash.

The rev lights are another good thing especially for the drags imo...

Tino - get the IQ3 & buy a cheap arse Netbook & put it in the glovebox for changing maps.

map switching is earthing a defined pin, piece of cake, but not the way really to do it.

your map switching should be turning on/off a compensation table.

that way you only need to maintain portions of the one map.

IQ3 can't switch maps as far as I know.

Pretty decent dash for what it costs.

Sensors prices aren't too bad. You can buy interface modules for a whole host of ECUs that go between the dash and the ECU that allows the dash to log most of what the ECU sees. I've only had to buy oil pressure and oil temp sensors. The rest comes straight from my SM4.

- RPM
- Water temp
- Intake Air temp
- MAP
- TPS
- Injector Pulse Width
- Exhaust Manifold Temp
- AFR (off the stock O2 sensor so useless...I have a Zeitronix that I haven't hooked up to my new exhaust yet that I'll be able to patch into the dash)
- Knock Retard
- Cam Angle
- Exhaust Back Pressure
- Timing
- Supposedly turbo rpm - haven't figured out how to get that working yet. Not sure how useful it is in any case.
- Wheel speed (useful check if you ever lose GPS signal...only time I have is in tunnels)

Other features
- 3 axis g sensor for logging braking/acceleration and cornering forces.
- GPS for creating track maps and generating GPS speed.
- 5 stage programmable shift light
- 4 programmable warning lights - can be triggered by up to two logged channels and writes user specified messages on screen at the same time as warning light comes up

Software looks really clunky in my opinion, but it does the job. Includes maths channels so you can calculate and display new channels based on logged channels. So for example my SM4 doesn't log injector duty cycle. I can calculate it from pulse width and engine rpm though.

Also has a 3 axis g-sensor and GPS built into the system so you can create track maps.

You can hook up external sensors using a device they call a USM which is simply a box made up of a heap of terminals that you connect your sensors to. They came in single port and 4 port flavours. 4 port is better value for money.

Prices
Dash (Logger Version) - $US1395
ECU Interface - $US375
4 port USM - $US179 (only if you want to hook up external sensors)
Vnet Cable (if required) - $US50-60 from memory

You don't have to use Racepak sensors. You can hook up just about anything to the USM.

Edit: Oh forgot to mention that it has in built support for exporting data to TrackVision now.

Tino spend some mod money here. You will want one when you see it.

Group buy going on in Liberty land and thought there might a few interested members here. I am buying one and have seen it installed and working in car like mine here in Perth. Details are as follows:

Its a GPS (Google Earth, Video& MP3 player, will let you read CELS and clear them. Excellent colour LCD screen, works with can and good for MY99 wrx onwards.

No it wont change maps for you.

Thanks guys... im might grab the motec sdl from ramon if this is just as capable if i decide to go down this path... but i will look into the IQ3 as it looks to have alot of good functions also..

With the motec though when gathering data do u have to pay motec like with the M800 for certain amounts of mb??
