Do you know what type of pads you have on there? If they are a race compound they need to get up to temperature to work effectively and if they are not up to temperature they will squeak away.

Best bet is if you are unsure, take it into a workshop / brake shop and get a quick check of what brake equipment you have.

Squealing in reverse is a very common thing in all cars. It's because (99% of the time) the pads are not at a 90 degree angle to your rotors. Usually there is a leading edge put in to the brakes in the direction of the normal rotation. This means when going in reverse you are scraping that edge causing the noise.

Drum brakes? Aaah memories... I don't think any WRX model has had rear drums, so nothing to be worried about there.

Hope this helps.

CRC on the rotors...fixes all squeaks

You CAN use RP7 as a substitute, but only as a temporary measure... make sure you get some CRC on there as soon as humanly possible.

Depends on what type of pad you are running...higher temp comp pads will squeal and it can be intermittent...will generally happen for a while after heavy (eg track) use. Also you can get a glaze buildup on pads & rotors if you DON'T use them hard enough (eg standard pads). You can clean up rotors just with some sandpaper too.
Different comp pads will also have differing amounts of squeal...for example Padgid RS4-2 are terrible for normal road driving but fantastic on the track...Ferodo DS2500 are a good compromise...Bendix Ultimate are a fairly squeal free pad, excellent on the road and reasonable on the track.
One thing you can also do to reduce squeal is pop the pads out and chamfer the front & back edges.
Otherwise, you just have to live with it.

Maybe only do that if you dont want to live anymore, as you will die.
