Default Will a japanese Car Stero work in Australia?

Found an old CD player but its from Japan.Wonder if it will work in Australia car at all? Anyone have any tips? I think the Radio frequency is 90mhz the max..any suggestions how to change that?

i think that you will need a frequency up converter. I think that jaycar in perth used to sell them but not sure if they still do.

You can get a special convertor that converts aus stations to a lower freq to make it work on a jap radio. But its usually easier and more user friendly to just get a new head unit.

I got one from Jaycar with a 10mhz frequency shift for the zed. Worked perfectly and took only 10 mins to wire in

why dont you just change the deck if you have all the speakers and subs??

Never got my JDM Subie headunit working properly in Australia. The satnav was even more of a headache (forester).

Ended up changing out for a newy.

umm, it should work as it is.

the the numbers will be out, and you wont be able to go to some frequencys.

anyone got the price of the converter?

the radio will work, 92.9 will show 82.9 and 45.5 (for all you easy listeners) will show 35.5 . We couldnt be bothered getting a frequescy converter in out mitsubishi Delica import so we just minus 10MHz for the station we want. Store the stations in memory anyways.

will work, but yeh 92.9 will be 82.9, and you cant pick up like 101.7. i had one in my skyline
