Whats wrong with your standard sensor?
Standard one is attached to the block under the manifold on the passenger side. So somewhere near there would be a good idea.

I just got a SubDataScan for my Legacy. It can give me a reading off the stock sensor as well as almost every other sensor on the engine the the ECU sees. So far at WOT, Im not getting any more than 3 degrees of knock correction.
Does that sound good or normal? More info on the SubDataScan: http://members.optusnet.com.au/impakt01/sds/

Its okay. I just found that the figure goes both ways on my knock sensor read out. + and -.
So far Im getting +3 degrees of ignition advance. So until my readings get into the negative. Im not having any problems. Good product for anyone whos interested. Its made by a member of RSLC and apparently will plug into any WRX up to 96 IIRC.
