Default Crazy Idea

Well, not really crazy...but I'm really tempted to ditch my FMIC, and go with a water-air setup like the Liberty RS.

I'd run the Libbo heat exchanger and pump, with a PWR barrel water-air cooler. Short pipework ftw, crazy throttle response

Stupid idea, or not? Anyone have any Lib RS stock gear they want to sell??

Ive got a RS WAIC setup. I'll swap for your FMIC setup.

What about getting a high flowing top mout air/air and enclosing it into a tank so the water (or other liquid) is surrounding the fins, then pumped through a really efficient aluminuim radiator? Has this ever been attempted?

enclosing an air TMIC is not really enough. It needs to have baffles in it so that the water takes a route through the TMIC that will extract heat evenly from all the surfaces.

You can get custom WAIC setups that are even better than the RS setup. But they are horrendously expensive. They have a huge heat exchanger at the front that is almost as big as the radiator.

I did the full price up there joe.

Cheapest on the PWR 600hp sized ones is $1650 that includes the front radiator and the hoses and the pumps .... you then need to allow about another $1000 to get the whole thing working... installed...custom pipework... relocating some stuff to get it to fit depending on where u put it.

Not cheap.. but probably the same cost as a full front mount and twice the result.

I will go down this road one day once I get over the bank trauma that my cams and headwork and bigger turbo is causing.

Throttle lag is a biatch with a front mount and this would certainly help.

You could probably spend $2k and get the manifold reversed and shorter intercooler pipework which would give roughly the same effect.

How about running a pipe from your aircon duct to the front of your intake? I've thought about this, would it make much dif or would the load from the compressor counter the benefits of the cold air?

yeah do what polar said, do the whole reverse manifold thing as i think its the coolest thing ever, looks off the chain and it really reduces lag!, that off the chain orange wrx had it down! does anyone know how much it is to do it and whats involved??
