Default Apexi or HKS

I have read up and found that when a testing was done between the most common filters, the Apexi power intake had the best filtration and flow. I currently have the HKS which bolts onto an adaptor for the afm and would like to know if the following apexi will bolt up to the same AFM adaptor. The apexi adaptor pictured does not have a AFM plug.

I would also like to know if this HKS air filter element is a new improved filter
being that it is a 3 layer? Was this the case when those tests were done?

Thank you once again

k&n have a good write up on testing proceedures on their website.

personally in an airfilter i look at the overall surface area, at the end of the day its a square peg down a round hole if a small filter is expected to move big volumes of air,

a lot of the time people overlook the size of their filter for the restriction and focus on the filter element itself because it looked nice.

im a firm beleiver that big boost doesnt kill turbos, its the air-restriction from the filter that causes the damage from pulling the seals.

most bolt on filters at the end of the day are going to suit a near-stock setup, the power differences would be neglible...

I wasnt worried about the power difference between the two.
I have just ordered a new turbo and didnt want to keep the HKS on the car if the filtration was no good. If that 3 layer element is better than the original tests I will just go with that.

Thanks

Apparently when judging a filters HP capacity you just need to look at its circumference. The bigger the highest HP. a LONG filter just gives extra life before hp will drop off but a wide round filter flows the most hp. Got told that by Dick Ward at Go Gear.
