I tore the exhaust on my rally car off once, at the flange where it goes from four pipes into two (very long intermidiate pipes). Sounded like a bloody jet taking off, and backfired worse than normal, however it was sluggish til big revs. On a good note however if you're just cruising, it doesn't really sound very loud, not until you try to accelerate.

Making a 50mm side dump pipe for it at work tommorrow...

ive got no muffler on my bugeye for now
didnt notice much difference in power but it didnt have much to begin with =D
