Default STi Engine + Transmission Mounts

Hi. For all those that upgraded their engines and transmissions did you bother with the upgraded STi mounts ?

Specifically:

http://www.japanparts.com/db/partsli...aker=4&volkey=

Thanks

J

Looking at these links again has me confused. I think I only need the first lot as the mounts all come in one complete set then. This lot: 1005G-019-024

Anyone know how many parts i need ?

1005G-019-024 is just for 2 engine mounts, you have to buy the transmisson one by itself.

This is the complete mount set with pitch and tranny mount.

You can also change the pitch mount (from gearbox to firewall) but been told its not worth it but they don't have them listed for GC's on japanparts.

Hi Guys

I've been through all this fun and have set out below a list of where i got some of my various engine, transmission and gearbox bushes for my MY00 (GC8).

Sti Pitch and engine mounts www.mrtrally.com.au/shop
Kartboy cross member bushings www.rallysportdirect.com
Kartboy shifter bushings www.rallysportdirect.com
Whiteline steering and rear diff cradle bushes www.whiteline.com.au

Leigh the guru at RMS installed these along with heaps of other fun stuff (eg. helical front/plated rear limited slippers and DMS coilovers)

I've got to say that the (STi) pitch and engine transmission mounts make a noticeable difference/improvement but you also want stuff like steering and rear diff cradle bushes + sub-frame lock nuts i.e. if you just do a bit here and there, it's not that noticeable.

However do it right, and assuming your donk's putting through a fair amount of extra torque, you will get very nice shifting under power and no-shunting of the driveline v. chassis although with a slight increase in NVH. But hey, as Chopper says: harden the f... up

happy fanging

I put the STi competition ones in the MY06 ...they are different again...round in shape. Work very well (intercooler doesn't hit the strut brace on hard launches any more) but the down side is that you feel every bit of engine vibration...everything's a compromise though.

check out the cusco, super pro and whiteline catalogues for other bushes and braces.

highly recommend the Perrin PSRS (alk), and J-Speed fender braces also.

Could be. I would be in.

The Japanparts prices looked pretty good, group buy and save on postage ?

Beatrush Anti-lift kit.

SOLID i.e. no bushes, just two machined chunks of ally.

Lots of vibration I bet, but you'll get the best results for sure

I'm keen on getting STi tranny, pitch stop, engine, kartboy shift and pivot bushings to really tighten things up.
