Default Subaru Problem Solvered

Well after Friday and Saturday ripping my WRX apart trying to figure out why it had no positive pressure, and no spool noises we finally found the up pipe had disintegrated into pieces and wedged closed the exhaust turbine . So i have got myself a new TD04 for nothing haha put the new one on anyways and it spools alot quicker than the last one

Just putting a big props to Dylan who helped me out of the blue with a new catless up pipe, and even more so to 4MUFF who put in 2 days hard labour to change eveything

Anyone else ever had the up pipe just fall apart ?

The uppipe structurally failed? Or do you just mean the cat converter in the uppipe decided to take a holiday in the turbo.

Its a well known issue on the 01/02s, that the cat in the up-pipe can disintegrate.

Not surprising. 02 Up-pipes are almost guaranteed to fail eventually.

Did you check for any damage to your exhaust turbine?
Small pieces would have been falling off and hitting the turbine at high speed long before a big chunk came off and blocked the pipe.

Good to hear it all worked out .. You really needed to change that up-pipe dude. It would have been stupid to put that back in.

It's the worst thing about MY01/02 WRX's.

Full credit to Brendon, top bloke. You motor certainly was in pieces when i came over!

Glad to hear it's back on the road dude - Was nice to meet you also.
