Default Odd dash light sequence...?

Just had a really odd problem... Started the car, pulled off the handbrake, reversed out of car bay, turned on the headlights (new HID's installed) and then:

- red park brake light came on (this was already disengaged)
- orange exhaust temp light came on
- DCCD appeared to be set in manual mode on rear bias 'flashing' green

, and they all remained on.

There didn't seem to be an issue with driving, braking etc. so I pulled over and turned off the car/engine. Started it back up again and all was ok. Played with my headlights by turning the HID's on/off, and still all was fine.

WTF? Out of interest, has this occured to anyone, especially those who have recently installed group buy HID's?

Weird - I just bought a set via the group buy, will see if I have a similar issue.

Maybe it's just your dash LED's saying "Hey! Thanks for the extra power you've given me back! I can now turn on during random periods to use up a bit of that spare power you've given me!"

.. See how it goes.

sometimes these kinds of electrical issues are a precursor to alternator problems. Weird dash lights and all sorts.

Ok, it appears that random dash lights flick on, everytime a different one, only when I turn on my HID's. They were recently installed exactly per instructions.

Can anyone with a group buy H1 kit installed an 03-05 peanut eye WRX/STi relate to this?

mayby the HID balasts are noisy, or creating voltage spikes, upsetting certain systems in the car, and confusing things?

Yeah it appears to be something related but not sure what the fix is if any... I know others have fitted the group buy HID kits on their 03-05 WRX/STi's so someone else MUST ALSO be experiencing a similar problem.

The kit is great and excellent value for money. They work great and once you go HID you'll never go back. Just gay annoying problems like this are well... annoying.

check your voltages across the battery terminals when the HID is on and off.
