Default Headlight dramas

Ok, i did the clearing the headlights diy today on my my05. It looks great now, only problem is my low beams arnt working anymore!

The indicator/parking light works fine...but this is where it gets strange... When i flick the indicator stick towards the driver (temoporary high beam) the high beams work fine. When i flick the indicator stick to the opposite direction (where high beam stays on) it doesnt work...unless i turn the stick clockwise two clicks...as if i was turning on the low beams. Low beams dont work regardless. I have no idea what it is i've done wrong, at first i thought blown globe, but im starting to think its something to do with the wiring because of the highbeam problem.

I double checked the connections...all 3 cables only fit into 3 slots - they arnt interchangeable so that cant be the problem!

if it was a fuse would it cause that highbeam trouble? Bit odd that highbeam works 1 way and doesnt the other..

low beam earth could be screwy. Check the wiring harness coming off the globe and follow the low beam switch earth back to check for any breaks in the wiring.

made the same post on naisoc, apparantly high beam doesnt go on perminately unless its clicked, apparantly the h1 low beams are weak and can tend to blow out.... so will give replacing the bulbs a shot - can anyone recommend something decent/bit brighter than stock?

.....if you removed the globes before putting the unit in the oven you may have touched them, the oil on your hands may have cause them to blow....just go to any super cheap/auto1 and they'll have a variety of bright white globes.
