Default Engine drama

Umm my mechanic just told me that my timing belt has been snapped and that he's not sure if the valaves on either side of the car are working or broken, do i have to replace everything or can i just get another timing belt, i have no idea wot to do

depends on the damage.. if you are lucky it may just be the belt. I would replace the belt and then get a compression test done to check for damage to valves, pistons and heads... worst case could be up for a full rebuild....

yeah the mechanic said that he'll have a look, how much is it for the valves, i'll let u guys know wots happenning.

When was the timing belt last changed before it snapped?

Umm i have no idea as i bought the car, second hand so i wasn't told, is it possible to just replace the valves and the timing belt, if the valves are stuffed

Maybe piston and head damage too.
Id get it pulled out and get it stripped down.

Nasty .. The Timing Belt is supposed to be done every 100,000.

It may be cheaper to simply buy a long motor and use your current manifold and bolt that in rather than repair the current motor.
